26-Oct-2006 — International Shipping
A tip for those of you outside of the U.S.: Foreign orders have and will always be charged for actual shipping as charged by the USPS. For customers outside of North America, this can be quite expensive. To avoid us charging your card for the additional postage at the time we fulfill your order, please select the International Shipping Hold option. This will not be charged to your card at the time of your order. This is the MAXIMUM amount we will charge your card at the time of fulfillment. At the time that we fulfill your order and it leaves the warehouse, we will charge only the order total, handling, and actual USPS charges. This will most often be less than the hold against your card. If you choose the International Shipping Hold option and fulfillment costs more than the hold, we will absorb all extra costs. If you do not choose this option, the full amount will be charged to your card at time of fulfillment.
For example, if you ordered $100 worth of charts, the hold would be $50, totaling $150.00. If you chose standard shipping at checkout, the total would be $120.00. At the time we mailed your order, you would be charged $100 + $10 (10%) and actual shipping. If the actual shipping was $45, your $155.00 total would be covered by the International Shipping Hold option (we would absorb the extra). If you chose standard shipping, we would charge your card an additional $35.00 per our policies stated in our Purchasing Information section.
We hope this is clear. By choosing the International Shipping Hold, you save us time, and sometimes save yourself money. Please help us avoid having to re-charge your credit-card for shipping charges; it costs us time, which we have to pass on to our customers.
